| Notes: | From the notes of L Everett Sanders http://ringwithsanders.com/sand-1/web-content/public_html/Agentrip19.html If we're correct then, the line goes from our familiar Christopher (b. 1731), back to Thomas Coates and Alice Bell, from Thomas to Christopher (again!) and Mary Pilkington, then back to John Coates and Catherine Johnson (married in 1675). This John appears to have another Christopher and a Marjory Muddock as parents (married Dec. 6, 1648). And we end (or start?) with a Johannis as his father, born around 1580 and married around 1605. The latter two dates are purely conjectural on our part. It gets more problematical because some of the entries are in Latin, and all in heavy Medieval script --in which we are no experts! Now , for a little about the church during the time of Johannis and his son, Christopher Johannis b.abt. 1580, marr. abt 1600 We need another generation in here! b. abt 1602, marr abt 1625 Christopher b. abt 1627 marr. 1648 to Marjory Muddock John b. abt. 1650 married 1675 to Catherine Johnson Christopher marr. Mary Pilkington Thomas marr. Alice Bell -- son was Christopher of 1731 |
